About the project03 / 04
Music to
move you.
Empyreal Sun is the trance alias of Swedish producer Jan Gustafsson. Active during the early 2000s, Empyreal Sun gravitated toward the melodic and uplifting side of the trance scene.
His tracks were played in DJ sets and on radio shows across the international trance community, earning support from artists such as Armin van Buuren and Tiësto. Among his better-known tracks from the period is Twisted Reality, released in 2003. Empyreal Sun has also contributed remixes for artists including Ozone/Airbase and M.I.D.O.R. & Six4Eight.
After a long break from releasing music, Jan is bringing Empyreal Sun back in 2026. The new material revisits the soaring, euphoric sound at the heart of the project.
